Job Duties: Machine Control which includes pull and send programs; tool change; trouble shooting; entering tool and D-Comp offsets; Understanding setup sheets, tool lists and Operational Detail Sheets Calculating Work Offsets (all axes) Indicating and Edge Finding Understanding program/D-Comps, part edge and center path programming Tightening and clamping pressures (i.e. ‘Free State’ condition and part clamped maintaining free state) Cutting pressures/Boring Bar adjustments (eg.
Microhead); spring pass; test cut bore; graduations on boring bar Tape proving current and modified programs, anticipating what the machine will do before it cuts Preventive maintenance 6-S Activities, 5-S Activities Pre-start up inspections which incorporate Health & Safety awareness Running a combined number of machines simultaneously in a safe and effective manner. (Combo) Work closely with other operators and members of other departments to produce a high-quality part.
