Position Information: Registered Nurses are responsible for providing patient-centered care, assessing patient health, developing and implementing care plans and delivering direct patient care.

Registered Nurses provide education and support to patients, families and caregivers to promote understanding and self-management while working collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team.

Essential Job Functions: •Provide leadership and guidance to other members of the healthcare team • Managing patient flow throughout the Emergency Department • Perform audits to evaluate the maintenance of performance standards • Report concerns related to staffing levels and patient acuity to Director of Patient Care • Assess the health status of assigned patients on the unit as outlined in the Standards of Nursing Practice • Work with the patient and family/caregivers to formulate a patient centered plan of care • Advocate for patients to achieve optimal patient outcomes • Utilize time management skills to provide care to patients and delegates or directs other team members as appropriate • Work collaboratively with the Director and the healthcare team to problem solve, plan, implement and evaluate unit specific improvement strategies Candidate must demonstrate the following qualities: • Professional attitude and be a professional role model • Manage and support change to foster an environment which promotes personal accountability • Commitment to ongoing career development through in-service, membership on CQI teams, staff meetings and self -motivated learning • Commitment to service excellence and quality patient care • Be reliable,



dependable and adaptable • Excellent attendance record required • Satisfactory performance appraisal Qualifications: • Current Certificate of Competence from College of Nurses of Ontario • Minimum 5 months Emergency experience required • BScN required or actively pursuing • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certification • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification • Current Canadian Triage Acuity Scale (CTAS) Certification • Current Non-violent crisis intervention (NVCI) course • Basic ECG interpretation course • Advanced ECG interpretation course • Current IV Initiation Skills - adult and paediatric • Added skills – IV Below Drip Chamber administration • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) • NRP, PALS, ENPC preferred • Emergency Nursing Program Diploma an asset • Excellent public relations, organizational and communication skills • Able to work in a quick-paced multidisciplinary setting • Satisfactory performance appraisal in current position for internal candidates • Documented commitment to continuing education through in-service, staff meetings and self-motivated learning • Satisfactory Attendance for internal candidates • Commitment to Patient Care & Safety and Service Excellence • Satisfactory vulnerable person’s sector criminal background check Why choose Woodstock Hospital? • Affordable On-Site Parking,
