Job Title: AI Platform Engineer

Location: Halifax, Nova Scotia

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced AI Platform Engineer to build and scale an agentic AI platform that enables development teams to adopt AI-driven Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) practices across the enterprise.

This is a hands-on engineering role within the DevOps and platform engineering environment. You will design, develop, and deploy AI agents, custom coding skills, MCP servers, and automated workflows to streamline software delivery, from requirements and technical specifications through development, testing, deployment, and post-release verification.

The ideal candidate has strong software engineering skills, practical experience building agent-based solutions, and hands-on expertise with AI coding assistants such as Claude Code.

Key Responsibilities

•

Design and develop AI agents to automate software development activities, including specification creation, technical design, coding, testing, deployment, release, and post-implementation verification (PIV).

•

Build custom skills, tools, and Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers to extend AI coding assistants such as Claude Code.

•

Develop and integrate agent-based solutions using LangChain, LangGraph, managed agent platforms such as Devin, and other suitable frameworks.

•

Implement spec-driven development workflows to standardize and automate the software delivery process.

•

Build automated validation mechanisms and quality gates to enforce development readiness, pull request readiness, and other SDLC controls.

•





Integrate AI agents with DevOps tools, CI/CD pipelines, development environments, and enterprise platforms.

•

Evaluate emerging AI models, coding assistants, agent frameworks, and automation patterns to identify opportunities for improving engineering productivity.

•

Make build-versus-adopt recommendations and contribute to the platform's technical roadmap.

•

Collaborate with DevOps, security, and platform engineering teams to ensure AI solutions meet enterprise security, reliability, and operational requirements.

•

Deploy reusable AI skills, tools, and agents into a shared platform and enable adoption across development teams.

•

Demonstrate developed solutions, share technical knowledge, and support engineering teams in adopting AI-driven SDLC practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications

•

Strong software development experience using Python and/or TypeScript/JavaScript.

•

Hands-on experience developing agent-based AI applications using LangChain, LangGraph, or comparable agent frameworks.

•

Practical experience building MCP servers, custom tools, and skills for AI coding assistants.

•

Demonstrated hands-on proficiency with Claude Code or similar advanced AI coding assistants for real-world software engineering.

•





Experience designing and implementing multi-agent workflows and integrating AI agents with external tools and services.

•

Knowledge of spec-driven development methodologies and automated software delivery workflows.

•

Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, deployment, and release management.

•

Ability to develop production-ready services with appropriate testing, monitoring, security, and reliability controls.

•

Solid problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

•

Experience with managed AI agent platforms such as Devin.

•

Familiarity with GitHub Spec Kit or similar specification-driven development frameworks.

•

Experience implementing automated SDLC controls, workflow orchestration, and reusable developer tooling.

•

Knowledge of enterprise security, governance, and access controls for AI-enabled development platforms.

•

Experience scaling AI engineering solutions across multiple development teams.

Ideal Candidate Profile The ideal candidate is a hands-on software or platform engineer who actively uses AI coding assistants, builds custom agent capabilities, and understands how to turn individual AI productivity improvements into secure, reusable, enterprise-scale engineering solutions.
