Now recruiting: AI Product Engineer

Madiro builds digital health systems with NGOs, humanitarian organizations and ministries of health in Africa and the Middle East. We also develop AI products used by global health teams, implementers and founders, and we are opening a new role to own them.

The role

You take ownership of our AI products: keep it working, keep improving it, and make sure the people it is built for use it and benefit from it. You are both product owner and builder. You decide what to build next, build it, ship it, measure how it performs, listen to users and fix what is not working, with the Madiro team alongside you.

Who we are looking for

- Have owned an AI product in production end to end, from roadmap to release to support, for at least a year, with users who depended on it.
- Can show results: adoption, retention, quality or accuracy metrics, time or money saved, and what changed because of their decisions.
- Work independently across the stack: LLM applications (RAG, agents, prompting, evals) and backend engineering (Python or TypeScript, APIs, deployment), and have run evaluation and quality processes, not only built features.
- Plan and prioritize on their own, make trade-offs,



and deliver in regular increments without being managed.
- Take governance seriously: human oversight, data ownership, auditability
- Work well remotely, across time zones and in writing. Working language is English; other languages are an asset.

We value proof of work over titles or degrees. Where you learned does not matter; what you have shipped and what it achieved does. The application asks for at least one product you owned: what it does, what you built, the numbers, what you learned, and links or a reference who can confirm it.
