Application Production Support Analyst

Location: Montreal, QC (Hybrid)

Employment: 12 Contract (T4)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Application Production Support Analyst to provide Level 1 and Level 2 support for business-critical applications. The role is responsible for maintaining production stability, monitoring application health, resolving incidents, supporting changes and releases, and working closely with development teams and business stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have strong production support experience, database knowledge, Unix/Linux expertise, and a proactive approach to incident management.

Key Responsibilities

Production Support

- Monitor application and production environments.
- Investigate and resolve incidents and service disruptions.
- Perform remediation activities to restore services.
- Serve as the first point of contact for Level 1 and Level 2 support issues.
- Escalate complex issues to Level 3 support teams.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and development teams.
- Document incidents, resolutions, and support activities.
- Participate in after-hours and weekend support when required.

Change & Release Management
- Support application deployments and production changes.
- Validate change requests and ensure compliance with established processes.
- Coordinate release activities with development teams.
- Participate in weekend or after-hours implementation activities when necessary.

Reporting & Project Support
- Participate in project planning and transition activities.
- Ensure operational readiness for new applications and enhancements.
- Prepare operational reports and status updates.
- Perform root cause analysis and recommend preventive actions.
- Support special projects and process improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

Experience





- 5+ years of Application/Production Support experience.
- Experience supporting enterprise applications in production environments.
- Experience with incident, problem, and change management processes.
- Experience working in a 24x7 support environment is preferred.

Technical Skills

- Strong experience with Oracle and/or Microsoft SQL Server.
- Hands-on experience with Unix/Linux and day-to-day command-line operations.
- Scripting experience using Shell Script and/or PowerShell.
- Experience with scheduling tools such as AutoSys.
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Geneos and/or Sysload.
- Knowledge of file transfer protocols.
- Experience using collaboration platforms such as SharePoint.
- Understanding of DevOps concepts is a plus.
- Experience with core banking applications or data warehousing is preferred.
