Senior Business Central Consultant

About the role

We are seeking a senior Business Central consultant who is capable of running full-cycle BC projects independently and will owns a portfolio of client environments end to end.

FIELDBOSS is a specialized field service and financial platform built on Microsoft Dynamics 365 for elevator, HVAC and specialty mechanical contractors. Our clients range from smaller businesses to large, private equity-backed multi-company organizations. They rely on us to implement software and to modernize how their businesses run financially.

This is not a role to grow into.

The ideal candidate will have led BC implementations before and has depth of knowledge with service businesses. Your clients will see you as their BC owner for implementations, enhancements, upgrades and the day-to-day issues that keep their finance teams moving.

The Team

You will be the lead BC consultant in a dedicated team within our Customer Solutions and Success department, not a one-person BC practice.

- Other consultants on the team share the client workload, so you're not the go-to for everything.
- Senior Business Central staff across the department work alongside you, so you have experienced peers to collaborate with on complex work.

Responsibilities

- Implementation leadership. Lead full-cycle Business Central implementations end to end: discovery, solution design, configuration, data migration, testing, training, go-live and stabilization.
- Client portfolio. Serve as primary consultant for a defined set of client BC environments, accountable for their health, upgrades, enhancements and ongoing support.
- Customer service. Be the responsive, accountable contact clients trust. Set clear expectations and communicate proactively, especially when things go sideways.
- Follow-through. Take every issue, request and project to completion. Nothing assigned to you stalls waiting for someone else to chase it.
- Contractor finance design. Translate job-costing, WIP, AP/AR, payroll and reporting needs into sound BC setups and best practices.
- Standards and mentoring.



Set implementation standards, review peers' work and mentor other consultants as the team's senior BC voice.
- Product input. Feed what you learn from clients into FIELDBOSS product direction, documentation and testing.

Experience

- 5+ years of hands-on Dynamics 365 Business Central (or NAV) experience, including at least 3 full-cycle implementations as the lead consultant.
- A field service background. Every FIELDBOSS client is a field service business, so you understand how work orders, service agreements, technician labor and service billing flow into job-costing and the GL.
- Deep configuration expertise across core financials, dimensions, posting setup, jobs and job-costing, and WIP.
- Hands-on experience configuring, rolling out or extending Copilot and AI agents in Business Central for clients.
- Data migration experience, including moves from Dynamics GP, QuickBooks or other legacy systems.
- A strong grasp of contractor or project-based financial operations: GL, AP/AR, job-costing, WIP and financial reporting.
- Experience across a range of client sizes, from smaller businesses to large, private equity-backed multi-company structures with intercompany and consolidation needs.
- A track record of owning client environments long term: post-go-live support, upgrades and enhancements, not just the initial build.
- Proven follow-through. You juggle multiple clients with minimal supervision and close things out.
- A customer-first approach, backed by strong listening and clear communication with controllers, service managers and executives alike.
- An analytical, problem-solving mindset and the confidence to make and defend solution decisions.

Candidate differentiators

- Payroll. BC payroll setup and add-on integrations; union payroll and labor costing are a strong plus.
- Contractor-focused add-ons. Binary Stream Multi-Entity,



payroll solutions and credit-card merchant integrations.
- Industry background. Direct experience in elevator, HVAC, construction or specialty mechanical businesses, or with Dynamics 365 Field Service.
- Microsoft Power BI and Fabric reporting. Building data models and Power BI reporting on Business Central data in Fabric.
- Other Microsoft tools. Power Automate, Dynamics GP, or Microsoft certification such as MB-800 (Business Central Functional Consultant).

6–12 months progression

- You will own your client portfolio. Clients call you first, and their BC environments are secure, current and well supported.
- Completion of one implementation or major enhancement from kickoff through stabilization.
- Assigned work completes on schedule, with clients kept informed at every step.
- Clients see you as a trusted advisor on their financial operations, not just their system.
- You've raised the team's stature through implementation standards, peer review and mentoring.
