Trail Hub

Greater Toronto Area

Location: Trail Hub, Uxbridge, ON

Position Type: Freelance / Contract, with ongoing project-based work

Compensation: $65.00–$85.00 CAD per hour, based on experience, portfolio, and demonstrated workflow efficiency

About Trail HubTrail Hub is a one-of-a-kind destination nestled in the conservation forests outside Uxbridge, Ontario. Situated on 140 acres of private land with direct access to over 240 kilometres of trails, Trail Hub combines outdoor adventure, elevated farm-to-table dining, and unforgettable events. We are home to Nest restaurant and a full recreation experience, including hiking, mountain biking, disc golf, and more.

Whether guests join us for a trail-running race, a cycling festival, a farm-to-table meal, or a corporate retreat, we’re passionate about connecting people with nature and creating experiences that bring our community together.

About the RoleWe’re looking for an experienced Freelance Brand & Graphic Designer to support Trail Hub’s growing events calendar and ongoing marketing needs.

The primary focus is event branding and design: developing distinctive visual identities for our events and bringing them to life across campaigns, websites, merchandise, signage, and in office experiences. Alongside this, you’ll create ongoing marketing assets for paid media, organic social, web, print, and other digital channels across the business.

This role is ideal for a creative, organized, and self-directed designer who can move confidently from concept to execution. You should bring strong design judgment, clear communication, and efficient workflows that make it easy to deliver high-quality work consistently.

We’re looking to build an ongoing freelance relationship with someone who can become familiar with our brand, understand our audiences, and contribute creatively rather than simply execute a list of requests.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop event brands and visual identities. Create logos, typography and colour systems,

key visuals, and practical brand guidelines for recreation events, races, festivals, and other Trail Hub experiences.
- Build complete event creative packages. Extend event identities across promotional campaigns, registration pages, sponsorship materials, merchandise, participant communications, signage, and on-site touchpoints.
- Create paid and organic marketing assets. Design creative for paid social, display advertising, organic social, and email, including variations for different audiences, placements, and campaign testing.
- Support web, print, and digital design. Produce website graphics, landing-page layouts, posters, brochures, menus, presentations, and other materials that support our events, recreation, restaurant, and broader business.
- Develop reusable templates and asset libraries. Create practical systems that help our team maintain brand consistency and adapt approved creative efficiently.
- Manage projects from brief to delivery. Collaborate with our leadership and marketing team, provide clear time estimates, manage feedback and revisions, and deliver within agreed timelines and budgets.
- Maintain organized, accessible design files. Provide editable source files, clearly structured working files, and correctly prepared final assets for digital publishing and print production.

What We’re Looking For
- A strong portfolio demonstrating event branding, visual identity development, and marketing design across multiple formats. Experience in outdoor recreation, sport, hospitality, or lifestyle brands is an asset.

- The ability to develop an original creative direction and carry it through a complete campaign, not just a standalone logo or social post.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign, with Figma experience for web and digital design.
- A strong understanding of typography, layout, brand consistency, digital advertising formats, and print-production requirements.
- An organized, efficient approach to design, including reusable templates, clear file management, and streamlined revision processes.
- Reliable communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with a small team.

Motion graphics, animation, or short-form video editing experience would be a welcome bonus, but is not required.

- Help shape a growing brand. Contribute to the creative direction of a destination that brings together outdoor adventure, dining, and events.
- Build an ongoing creative partnership. Work directly with our leadership and marketing team across a varied pipeline of projects.
- Bring your ideas to the table. We value thoughtful creative input and better ways of working, not just finished deliverables.
