Join Wholly Pelvis
Wholly Pelvis is a specialized pelvic health physiotherapy practice focused exclusively on pelvic health and sexual health.
Our approach is rooted in evidence-informed practice, trauma-informed care, education, and individualized treatment. We believe pelvic health care should look beyond simply treating a muscle or a symptom. Our goal is to understand the whole person—including their physical health, nervous system, experiences, lifestyle, goals, and overall wellbeing—and work collaboratively to help them feel more confident in their bodies.
This is an excellent opportunity for a physiotherapist who is passionate about pelvic health, wants to build their pelvic caseload, and values working in an environment where mentorship and continued learning are part of the practice.
About the Founder
Bhawan Sekhon, PT is a registered Pelvic Health Physiotherapist and the founder of Wholly Pelvis. Her practice combines evidence-informed pelvic health physiotherapy with additional training in sexual health and trauma-informed care.
Bhawan is also an Assistant Clinical Professor (Adjunct) at McMaster University, where she is involved in education and bringing current evidence into clinical practice. Her approach is grounded in lifelong learning, compassionate care, and helping clients understand their bodies so they can actively participate in their own healthcare.
About the Role
We are looking for a pelvic health physiotherapist to start part-time, with the opportunity to develop a consistent caseload as the practice grows.
You will work exclusively with pelvic health clients—there will be no general orthopaedic physiotherapy caseload.
To start, your caseload will primarily consist of urinary and fecal incontinence,
allowing you to develop a strong clinical foundation and build confidence with pelvic health assessment and treatment.
As your experience and training progress, your caseload will gradually expand to include other pelvic health concerns such as:
- Pelvic pain
- Pregnancy and postpartum recovery
- Pelvic organ prolapse
- Urinary urgency and frequency
- Bowel dysfunction
- Sexual health concerns
- Birth and labour preparation
- Other pelvic health conditions
- Mentorship & Career development You will not be expected to figure pelvic health out on your own.
Mentorship with Bhawan is included as part of the role, with opportunities to discuss clinical cases, assessment and treatment approaches, research, and professional development.
We are particularly interested in someone who is excited about continuing to learn and developing their career specifically within pelvic health.
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Registered Physiotherapist in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario
- Completion of a Level 1 pelvic health physiotherapy course
- Comfortable working with an incontinence caseload
- Strong interest in developing a career in pelvic health
- Commitment to evidence-informed practice
- Compassionate, respectful, and trauma-informed approach to patient care
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently while being open to mentorship and collaboration
Professional development expectation:
The successful candidate will be expected to complete Level 2 and Level 3 pelvic health training shortly after joining the practice, with mentorship and support provided along the way.
We are looking for someone who sees pelvic health as a specialty and a long-term area of practice, rather than simply an additional service they provide.
What We Offer
- Split based pay under an Independent Contractor (IC) agreement
- Pelvic health cases only
- Part-time schedule with the opportunity to build a consistent caseload and move to a full-time caseload
- Clinical mentorship included
- In-person and virtual treatment options
- Practice based within the Ottawa Birth and Wellness Centre, including referrals from birthing specialists and midwives.
- Opportunity to work within a collaborative birth and wellness environment
- Opportunity to grow your pelvic health caseload as Wholly Pelvis expands
Location & Schedule The role will initially have an in-person focus at the Ottawa Birth and Wellness Centre, as we establish and grow the clinic presence.
As your caseload develops, there will be flexibility to incorporate both in-person and virtual appointments.
The ideal candidate will be available to establish a consistent presence at the clinic initially and be interested in growing with the practice.
