Job Title: Python & SQL Developer

Location: Montreal, QC - Canada. It is Hybrid Onsite - 3 days to onsite in a week. [NOTE: In-Person Interview Required]

Job Summary

We are seeking a Python & SQL Developer with 5-8 years of experience in designing, developing, and supporting data-driven applications and solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Python programming, SQL development, data analysis, and database optimization. This role involves collaborating with business and technical teams to develop scalable solutions, automate processes, build data pipelines, and support reporting and analytics initiatives in an Agile workplace.

Day to Day Job Duties:

- Design, develop, test, and maintain applications and scripts using Python.
- Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and database objects.
- Build and maintain ETL/data integration processes.
- Analyze large datasets and implement data quality checks and validation processes.
- Collaborate with business analysts, data engineers, and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
- Develop automated workflows and process improvements using Python.
- Monitor application and database performance and recommend optimizations.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, deployment, and production support activities.
- Create technical documentation and knowledge transfer materials.
- Work within Agile/Scrum teams and contribute to sprint planning and execution.

Basic Qualifications:





- 5-8 years of experience in software development, data engineering, or application development.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Python programming.
- 5+ years of experience writing complex SQL queries and database development.
- 3+ years of experience with relational databases such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or MySQL.
- 3+ years of experience developing ETL/Data Integration solutions.
- Experience with Python libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, SQLAlchemy, or similar.
- Experience with data analysis, data transformation, and reporting.
- Strong understanding of database design, indexing, query optimization, and performance tuning.
- Experience with Git and version control practices.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Preferred Skills:

- Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
- Experience with PySpark, Spark, or big data technologies.
- Knowledge of Data Warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling.
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other BI/reporting tools.
- Experience with Airflow or workflow orchestration tools.
- Knowledge of REST APIs and microservices architecture.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Experience with machine learning libraries and predictive analytics.
- Financial services, healthcare, or enterprise application experience.

Degree:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered
