Shift: Overnight, 11:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.

Compensation: $18.57 per hour

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dependable and observant Security Guard to support overnight access control operations at a client property in Mississauga.

The successful candidate will monitor access, maintain accurate records, conduct assigned patrols and respond to security concerns in accordance with site procedures. This position requires professionalism, sound judgment and the ability to remain attentive while working independently throughout the night.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Access Control and Visitor Management

- Verify identification and authorization before granting access to the property.
- Register visitors, contractors and deliveries according to site procedures.
- Maintain accurate visitor records, access logs and key-control documentation.
- Address unauthorized access attempts professionally and promptly notify the appropriate contact.

Patrols and Security Monitoring

- Conduct scheduled interior and exterior patrols as required by site post orders.
- Check doors, access points and designated areas for security concerns.
- Identify and report hazards, property damage, suspicious activity and maintenance issues.
- Monitor CCTV, access control and alarm systems where assigned.
- Keep emergency exits and access routes under observation during patrols and report obstructions.





Incident and Emergency Response

- Respond promptly to alarms, disturbances and requests for assistance.
- Follow established procedures for fire alarms, medical emergencies and other incidents.
- Contact emergency services when required and provide clear, accurate information.
- Use calm communication and appropriate de-escalation techniques when addressing concerns.
- Document observations and actions while preserving relevant information.

Reporting and Communication

- Complete accurate daily activity logs, incident reports and shift handover notes.
- Communicate significant concerns promptly to dispatch, supervisors and designated client representatives.
- Maintain confidentiality when handling personal information, access records and incident details.
- Follow site post orders, company policies and client instructions.

Professional Conduct and Customer Service
- Maintain a clean uniform and professional appearance.
- Provide courteous assistance to staff, visitors and authorized personnel.
- Enforce site rules consistently and respectfully.
- Remain alert, punctual and accountable throughout each shift.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

- A valid Ontario Security Guard Licence.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada.
- Availability to work the advertised full-time overnight schedule.




- Strong verbal and written English communication skills, including clear report writing.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to complete electronic logs and reports.
- Sound judgment, attention to detail and the ability to follow written procedures.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize concerns and remain composed under pressure.
- Ability to perform the essential duties of the position, including walking patrols and periods of standing, with accommodation where required.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

- Previous experience in access control, concierge, commercial or residential security.
- Familiarity with CCTV monitoring, visitor management and electronic access control systems.
- Experience responding to alarms and preparing incident reports.
- Experience providing customer service in a security environment.

WORKING CONDITIONS

This is an onsite overnight position. Duties may include desk-based monitoring, walking patrols and outdoor checks, depending on site requirements. The successful candidate must remain attentive throughout the shift and maintain clear communication with the appropriate operational contacts.
