Bow River Medical Specialists
Calgary
We are a well-established, privately owned Calgary organization with substantial interests in commercial real estate, medical clinics and an accredited surgical facility. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team, learn our diverse operations and grow into a key leadership role over time.
The prospect
This is a hands-on role working closely with the owners and existing management. The successful candidate will begin with selected projects and responsibilities. Responsibilities and decision-making authority may expand as the individual develops operational knowledge, demonstrates results and earns mutual trust. For the right person, there is potential to progress into a senior executive role, including possible overall leadership in the longer term.
What you will do
- Help resolve day-to-day business and operational challenges, following issues through to completion.
- Participate in commercial property operations, tenant matters, maintenance and capital projects.
- Review contractor and supplier proposals; support negotiations and cost-control initiatives.
- Assist with budgets, financial analysis, process improvements and business opportunities.
- Learn medical clinic and surgical-facility administration alongside experienced managers.
- Work with employees, contractors and professional advisors across varied projects.
Who will thrive here
We welcome both seasoned managers and high-potential professionals earlier in their careers. We care more about demonstrated ability and character than a particular title,
age or number of years in management.
- Unquestionable integrity, dependability and sound judgment.
- Strong initiative, work ethic, curiosity and willingness to learn from the ground up.
- Creative, practical problem-solving skills and a willingness to get personally involved.
- Financial common sense, commercial awareness and confidence dealing with people.
- Humility, adaptability, follow-through and interest in a long-term career.
Experience and qualifications
Relevant backgrounds may include business operations, commercial real estate, healthcare administration, construction, engineering, finance, accounting, project management or entrepreneurial businesses. A university degree or professional designation is an asset, not a requirement. Experience in every field is not expected.
Compensation and long-term potential
Competitive compensation will reflect the successful candidate’s experience and initial responsibilities. Compensation and possible long-term incentives may evolve with proven performance and increased responsibility.
How to apply
Please submit a résumé and a brief covering letter describing two or three significant business or operational problems you personally helped solve. Explain the challenge, your specific actions and the results achieved.
