Join our team! The Grande Prairie Hospitals' Auxiliary Association is looking for friendly, reliable and customer-focused individual to join our team in the hospital gift shops. Our gift shops provides patients, visitors and hospital staff with a welcoming place to shop for food, gifts, flowers and cards. All of the money we earn in the gift shops remain in the community.

Duties

- Greet customers warmly and provide excellent customer service throughout their shopping journey
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems efficiently for cash handling and transactions
- Assist customers with product inquiries
- Maintain organized merchandising displays to attract attention and promote featured items
- Handle cash, credit card transactions, and perform basic math calculations with accuracy
- Support inventory management through stock replenishment and merchandising organization
- Ensure a clean, organized checkout area that adheres to company standards




- Demonstrate strong communication skills to engage with diverse customers in multiple languages if applicable

Requirements

- Previous retail sales or cashiering experience is preferred but not mandatory; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are essential
- Strong organizational skills to manage time effectively during busy periods is an asset
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately
- Customer service orientation with a positive attitude and problem-solving mindset
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends as needed
- Knowledge of POS systems, merchandising practices, and retail sales techniques is beneficial
