1st Call Health & Safety is looking for a dependable and professional Casual / Part-Time Nurse to join our team and provide occupational health testing services.

The successful candidate will perform blood draws and assist with occupational testing and medical assessments for clients across various industries. We are looking for someone with strong clinical skills, excellent attention to detail, and a professional approach to client care.

Responsibilities

- Perform blood draws (venipuncture) and collect blood samples for laboratory testing.
- Conduct occupational health testing and medical assessments within the scope of practice and qualifications.
- Travel to client workplaces to perform on-site testing when required.
- Properly label, handle, store, and prepare specimens for laboratory submission.
- Complete and maintain accurate client records and testing documentation.
- Follow established procedures for infection prevention, specimen handling, and workplace safety.
- Maintain confidentiality when handling personal health information.
- Provide professional and courteous service to clients.
- Ensure testing supplies and equipment are properly maintained and organized.

Qualifications

- Diploma in Practical Nursing from a recognized educational institution.




- Current registration and good standing with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLHA).
- Previous experience and demonstrated competency in performing blood draws (venipuncture) is required.
- Strong knowledge of specimen collection and handling procedures.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage appointments efficiently.
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation for on-site testing, as required.
- Professional, dependable, and committed to providing quality client care.

Assets:

- Experience in occupational health or workplace medical testing.
- Experience with drug and alcohol testing procedures.
- Current CPR certification.
