Welcome to Spencerville Early Learning Centre! We are a brand-new licensed childcare center dedicated to creating a warm, healthy, and welcoming setting for children and families. As part of the Leeds & Grenville Child Care program, we pride ourselves on providing high-quality care, delicious nutrition, and a clean, safe setting where up to 39 children can learn, grow, and play every day.

Role Overview

We are seeking a reliable, organized, and caring Childcare Cook & Housekeeper to play a vital role in our daily operations. You will be responsible for preparing nutritious meals and snacks that fuel our children's days, while ensuring our facility remains sparkling clean, hygienic, and safe.

Key Responsibilities

Culinary & Food Service:

- Plan and prepare healthy, appealing lunches and two daily snacks for up to 39 children in accordance with Canada’s Food Guide, dietary restrictions, and allergy requirements.
- Assist in weekly/monthly menu planning and maintaining food inventory/supplies.
- Ensure all food handling, storage, and preparation follow strict public health and safety standards.

Housekeeping & Maintenance:

- Wash, sanitize, and store all kitchenware, dishes, and food prep areas after meals and snacks.
- Perform daily floor maintenance, including sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping common areas and classrooms.
- Support facility laundry duties (e.g., bedding, towels, and bibs) to keep supplies fresh and sanitary.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming physical environment throughout the center.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Certifications & Clearances:




- Valid Food Handler Certificate (Required).
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) issued within the last 6 months.
- Proof of full vaccination (as per public health/organizational guidelines).
- Experience: Previous experience in commercial food preparation, catering, or housekeeping (childcare or institutional experience is a strong asset).
- Skills: Strong organizational skills, time management, knowledge of kitchen safety protocols, and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
