Jones Neon Displays has been a leader in commercial sign manufacturing since 1941. We specialize in the fabrication and installation of commercial signage across Canada, including illuminated channel letters, pylon signs, architectural signage, and custom aluminum fabrication.

Operating from our 25,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility in Grimsby, Ontario, we are looking for an experienced CNC Operator to join our production team.

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled, dependable CNC Operator with a robust understanding of CNC routing, machine setup, tooling, and material processing.

The successful candidate will operate our large-format AXYZ dual-gantry CNC router, working with a variety of materials used in commercial sign manufacturing.

Experience with CNC file preparation, programming, and nesting software would be considered a valuable asset.

Key Responsibilities

- Set up and operate large format CNC routing equipment.
- Select and change cutting tools based on material and job requirements.
- Adjust cutting depths, feed rates, spindle speeds, and other machine settings.
- Load, review, and run CNC programs supplied by our file preparation team.
- Make adjustments to existing toolpaths and nesting layouts when required.
- Read and interpret production drawings and fabrication specifications.
- Work with aluminum, acrylic, ACM, PVC, and other sign manufacturing materials.
- Monitor cutting operations to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Troubleshoot machine operation and cutting issues.
- Inspect finished components for quality and dimensional accuracy.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean, safe work area.




- Help maintain production schedules.

Qualifications

- Previous experience operating CNC routers in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of CNC machine setup, tooling, feeds, speeds, and cutting techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Experience cutting aluminum, plastics, or composite materials.
- Ability to work independently and troubleshoot problems.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Dependable, organized, and comfortable working in a busy manufacturing environment.

Additional Assets

- Experience with EnRoute, Vcarve, CorelDRAW, or other CAD/CAM software.
- CNC file preparation and programming experience.
- Creating and modifying toolpaths.
- Material nesting and optimization.
- Previous experience in commercial sign manufacturing.
- Experience operating AXYZ CNC routers.
