Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Design Coordinator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting the design and planning phases of infrastructure projects. Your energetic approach will help ensure seamless coordination between design teams, project managers, and field crews. Responsibilities

- Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to schedule, specifications, and budget.
- Coordinate design activities between internal design teams and construction teams, consultants and clients.
- Facilitate design review meetings and workshops to resolve conflicts and align stakeholders. Work closely with project managers, engineers, and construction teams to ensure design feasibility.
- Track and manage design submissions, revisions, and approvals.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for design-related queries between teams and clients.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and internal project staff to ensure efficient execution of project tasks.
- Coordinate with Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) teams for design verification.
- Identify potential design risks, constructability issues, and propose solutions.
- Respond to requests for Information (RFIs), Design Change Notices (DCNs),



and Design Change Orders (COs).
- Develop and maintain design schedules in alignment with project milestones and provide regular updates on design progress, risks, and issues to Management.
- Collaborating with design staff to ensure billing milestones are met and tracked, following up with client invoices.
- Various administrative tasks as required include but not limited to; scanning, photocopying, inputting information into various spreadsheets and databases.
- Support project management activities by tracking deadlines, deliverables, and ensuring timely completion of design tasks.

Qualifications

- Minimum two to three (2-3) years AutoCAD experience required
- Post Secondary education in Design Engineering or Business related program
- Knowledge of overhead and underground electrical distribution system design and construction and required permitting and approvals necessary to execute projects
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Excellent written and verbal skills to communicate effectively and prepare technical reports and analysis
- Valid class ‘G’ license preferred

Skills

- Proficiency in blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings.
- Experience with construction estimating processes and related software tools.
- Strong understanding of schematics development and review.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
- Construction experience or background in civil or electrical infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
- Effective project management skills with a focus on coordination between teams and stakeholders.
