The Opportunity

We are seeking an accomplished financial and business leader to join our senior leadership team as Director of Finance and Operations.

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be accountable for financial management, commercial performance and retail and distribution operations. The role requires robust financial expertise, commercial judgment and the ability to lead performance across multiple business functions.

What You Will Do

Lead Finance. Oversee financial reporting, budgets, forecasts, cash flow, working capital and internal controls. Provide financial analysis and recommendations to guide business decisions.

Drive Commercial Performance. Lead supplier negotiations, manage rebate programs and establish pricing and margin strategies that support profitability and customer value.

Lead Operations. Direct the performance of retail, purchasing, inventory, warehousing and distribution operations, with accountability for revenue, profitability, customer service and operating efficiency.

Support Business Growth. Evaluate commercial opportunities, develop profitable Affiliate Clinic programs and improve business processes.

Oversee IT/IS and Business Systems. Ensure reliable technology infrastructure, effective business systems, cybersecurity and data protection. Manage external technology providers and support improvements that enhance operational efficiency.





Lead and Develop People. Build management capability, establish clear performance expectations and oversee finance and HR administration.

What You Bring

You are an accomplished financial leader with strong commercial judgment, proven management experience and the ability to take responsibility beyond the finance function. You may already have operational leadership experience or have demonstrated the capability to assume broader operational responsibility.

Your qualifications include

- Seven or more years of senior financial leadership experience, with accountability for financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, working capital, internal controls and business performance.
- Proven leadership experience, including managing people, developing teams, making business decisions and delivering measurable results.
- Operational leadership experience preferred, particularly in retail, distribution, purchasing, inventory or warehouse management, or demonstrated capability to transition into broader operational leadership.
- Demonstrated commercial judgment, including experience with pricing, margins, supplier agreements or investment decisions.
- Experience with accounting and ERP systems, financial controls and business process improvement.
- Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, business administration or a related discipline. CPA designation highly preferred; equivalent senior financial and business experience considered.

Experience in distribution, agricultural supply, retail, veterinary services or another inventory-intensive business is an asset.
