Petite Maison Montessori is a licensed Montessori childcare centre in Toronto, Ontario, dedicated to providing a nurturing, safe, and engaging learning environment for young children. We are looking for a caring, responsible, and enthusiastic Early Childhood Assistant (ECA) to join our team and support our Casa classrooms.

Responsibilities

- Assist teachers with the daily operation of the classroom and implementation of age-appropriate activities.
- Support children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
- Help maintain a protected, clean, organized, and welcoming classroom workplace.
- Assist children with daily routines, including dressing, handwashing, meals, and rest periods, as appropriate.
- Supervise children indoors and outdoors, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Encourage independence, positive behaviour, cooperation, and respect among children.
- Assist with classroom preparation, cleaning, sanitizing, and organizing learning materials.
- Follow the centre's policies, procedures, and Ministry of Education requirements.
- Work collaboratively with RECEs and other team members.
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with colleagues and families.
- Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum one year of experience working in a childcare centre or daycare setting.
- Early Childhood Assistant (ECA) qualification or relevant childcare education is preferred.




- Current Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification, or willingness to obtain it before starting, if applicable.
- A clear Vulnerable Sector Check, in accordance with licensing requirements.
- Knowledge of child development, health and safety practices, and appropriate supervision.
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada. Candadians with a valid Canadian work permit are welcome to apply. Applicants must be able to provide proof of their authorization to work in Canada
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions.
- Reliable, punctual, patient, caring, and enthusiastic.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a busy childcare environment and actively engage with children throughout the day.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including standing, walking, and working at children's level.

Pay: $20.00-$21.00 per hour
