Job Summary

Smiles and Miracles Montessori Daycare is seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated ECE Assistant to support our early childhood education team. The successful candidate will help create a safe, welcoming, and stimulating environment where children can learn, explore, and develop at their own pace. Working alongside lead educators, the ECE Assistant will support Montessori-inspired learning activities, encourage independence, and promote children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Assist lead educators in preparing and implementing age-appropriate learning activities using Montessori-inspired materials and teaching methods.
- Encourage children's curiosity, creativity, independence, and hands-on learning through play and exploration.
- Supervise and support children during daily routines, including meals, rest periods, indoor activities, and outdoor play.
- Help maintain a safe, clean, organized, and engaging classroom environment.
- Support children's individual developmental needs and encourage positive social interactions.
- Promote an inclusive learning environment for children with diverse abilities and needs.
- Communicate respectfully and effectively with educators, parents, and other team members.
- Follow childcare health, safety, hygiene, and supervision procedures.




- Observe children's progress and report any concerns or incidents to the supervising educator.

Requirements
- Previous experience working with young children in a daycare, preschool, or early learning environment is an asset.
- Knowledge of early childhood development and age-appropriate learning practices.
- Interest in Montessori education and child-centred learning.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
- Ability to support children's independence, creativity, and emotional well-being.
- Patience, reliability, and a caring attitude toward children.
- Ability to assist with daily classroom routines and basic educational activities.
- Relevant ECE Assistant certification or other qualifications required by applicable provincial childcare regulations.

Pay: From $31.35 per hour
