Give Me A Break Childcare is a new licensed centre opening late fall 2026 at 976 Stone Church Rd E on Hamilton Mountain.

We offer full-time, part-time and on-demand care for children 18 months to 6 years, with hours that run into the evening and across the weekend, so families with real-life schedules have somewhere to turn. You would be joining the founding team, helping shape the rooms, the routines and the culture from day one. We are hiring RECEs for our toddler room (18 months to 2.5 years) and our preschool room (2.5 to 4 years).

You would be building a room from an empty one: the environment, the routines, the relationships with families. Two of these positions are full-time and hold one room each. The third is part-time and works differently: it provides qualified coverage wherever the centre needs it, across toddler, preschool and kindergarten-age children, including our evening and weekend on-demand groups.

You would know every room and every child, and the team would lean on you on the days that do not go to plan. If you are building a schedule around school, family or another job, that is the one built for you. Full-time is 35 to 40 hours a week, most shifts falling Monday to Friday 7:30 am to 6:00 pm.

Part-time is about 23 hours a week, across days, evenings and weekends. The daily meal break is unpaid, and you are free to leave the site. Evening and weekend shifts grow as our on-demand care does. Plan and lead inclusive, play- and inquiry-based experiences that follow children's interests, strengths, cultures and languages Observe and document children's learning, and use what you see to shape the environment and the materials Keep children safe through active supervision,



ratio awareness and consistent health and sanitation routines Support personal care, meals and rest in a way that protects every child's dignity and builds their independence Build warm, responsive relationships with children, and partner openly with their families In the part-time position, provide qualified coverage across rooms and age groups, keeping supervision, ratio and safety standards constant through hand-offs With training, take on Supervisor Designate responsibilities when the Supervisor is off site, if you want to grow in that direction Diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education from a recognized institution Registered Early Childhood Educator in positive standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators Current Standard First Aid with infant and child CPR from a WSIB-approved provider Availability for the hours you are asking for, including some evenings or weekends Experience in licensed toddler or preschool rooms A Vulnerable Sector Check completed before your start date, with ongoing offence declarations as required under the Child Care and Early Years Act Health and immunization documentation as required by Hamilton Public Health Completion of GMAB's orientation, including our policies, program statement, allergy and anaphylaxis procedures and emergency plans Full-time or part-time hours, and a say in which one suits you Support for your professional learning, including College of Early Childhood Educators CPL requirements where they apply The Supervisor starts first and helps build the rest of the team.
