About Us

FlowMedia (Florence Signs & LED) has been a leading name in the sign, LED, and outdoor advertising industry since 1969. Family-owned with over 55 years of experience, we are known for award-winning design, quality, and service. From our Cambridge shop we serve Kitchener-Waterloo, the GTA, and beyond, working with commercial, industrial, and institutional clients, plaza owners, franchises, churches, medical buildings, and schools.

We are now growing into vehicle wraps, fleet graphics, mobile billboard rentals, and LED digital signage.

The Role

You are the bridge between a customer's idea and a finished sign. You design the artwork, prepare the production files, run the printers and plotters, laminate and cut, help build the sign, and often go out and help put it up.

This is a versatile shop role for someone who likes variety and takes pride in getting the colour, the alignment, and the detail right the first time. You will talk to customers directly about their artwork and proofs, so this is not a heads-down design job.

What You'll Do

Design and preflight

- Design and lay out artwork for fascia signs, channel letters, illuminated cabinets, vinyl and window graphics, banners, vehicle wraps, wayfinding, and ADA signage
- Work from customer-supplied files, brand guidelines, logos, and rough sketches, and turn them into production-ready art
- Produce proofs and scaled drawings for customer approval, and revise based on feedback
- Prepare files for output: colour management, bleed, tiling, panel layout, cut paths, and nesting for material yield

Print and finish production

- Operate and maintain large-format printers, plotters, and cutters, including RIP software,

media loading, profiles, and calibration
- Laminate, trim, weed, and apply vinyl graphics and decals
- Cut and route panels, and prepare substrates for fabrication
- Run daily and weekly maintenance on all print and cutting equipment, and keep consumables stocked
- Manage material inventory and minimise waste through smart layout and nesting

Fabrication and installation support

- Assist with sign fabrication, including LED channel letters, illuminated cabinets, and work with metals, plastics, and acrylics
- Assemble, wire, and test LED components
- Help with on-site installations, including site prep, mounting, and vinyl application
- Operate a bucket truck for installs

Customer service and shop support

- Deal directly with customers on artwork, proofs, material options, and timelines, in person, by phone, and by email
- Pitch in wherever the shop needs it. In a small team everyone helps across roles
- Close out jobs the same day: files archived, materials used recorded, and production hours logged

What You Bring

- 2+ years in a sign shop, large-format print, or graphics production environment
- Strong graphic design and layout skills, with CorelDRAW preferred; Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop also welcome
- Hands-on experience with large-format printing,

laminating, panel cutting, and vinyl application
- Comfortable with basic fabrication and working with hand and power tools
- Solid customer service skills and genuine experience dealing directly with clients
- Detail-oriented and versatile, with the judgment to catch a file problem before it becomes a reprint
- Valid Ontario Class G driver's licence (required)
- Physically able to lift rolls and panels, and comfortable working on site and at heights
- Dependable and consistent. Production and install dates depend on you being here

Strong assets: LED channel letter experience, bucket truck operation, Working at Heights certification, vehicle wrap application, electrical or ESA familiarity.
