We are looking for an experienced HDD Locator to join our underground utility construction team. The ideal candidate must have experience locating and guiding directional drilling operations for telecom and fibre optic installations.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate HDD locating equipment, including DigiTrak systems.
- Accurately track drill head depth, pitch, and direction.
- Communicate effectively with the drill operator to ensure accurate bore paths.
- Identify underground utilities and potential obstacles.
- Assist with drill setup, bore planning, and daily operations.
- Complete daily equipment inspections and safety documentation.
- Work with the drilling crew to maintain productivity and safety.
Requirements
- Previous HDD locating experience is required.
- Experience with DigiTrak F5 or similar equipment preferred.
- Ability to read utility drawings and bore plans.
- Knowledge of underground utility installation and safe digging practices.
- Valid driver's licence.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
