Health Care & Senior Care Instructor

Work Arrangement: In-person instruction, with online teaching where scheduled

Cornerstone International Community College of Canada is seeking experienced Health Care and Senior Care Instructors to teach and support adult learners preparing for work in healthcare, senior care and community support settings.

We are looking for knowledgeable instructors who can combine practical healthcare experience with effective, student-focused teaching.

Responsibilities

- Deliver classroom, online and hands-on instruction in health care and senior care.
- Teach personal care, activities of daily living, safe transfers, mobility assistance and infection prevention.
- Provide instruction on dementia care, nutrition, hydration, responsive behaviours and supporting older adults.
- Teach professional communication, confidentiality, ethics, boundaries and resident rights.
- Prepare lesson plans, learning materials, assignments and assessments.
- Demonstrate appropriate caregiving techniques and supervise practical skills training.
- Evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain a secure,



inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Ensure instruction follows applicable BC healthcare standards and institutional policies.
- Work with academic staff to improve course delivery and learning resources.

Qualifications

- Diploma or degree in Nursing, Health Care Assistant education, Gerontology or a related healthcare field appropriate to the courses taught.
- Relevant experience in healthcare, senior care, residential care, assisted living or community care.
- Solid communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to teach adult learners with different backgrounds and learning needs.
- Current BCCNM registration where required for the teaching responsibilities.

Preferred:

- Previous healthcare teaching or staff-training experience.
- Provincial Instructor Diploma Program (PIDP) or equivalent adult education qualification.
- Experience with HCA, dementia care, personal care or senior care training.
- Knowledge of current BC healthcare practices.
