Opadez Home Health Care is seeking a compassionate, experienced, and dependable Home Support Worker to provide personalized, one-on-one care for a senior living with Alzheimer's disease in Leduc, Alberta.

We are hiring immediately and prioritizing applicants who can begin work this week.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience supporting individuals living with Alzheimer's disease or dementia and understand the importance of patience, consistency, dignity, and person-centred care.

This is an ongoing home-care position requiring someone who can build trust, follow established routines, and work independently in a private home.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist with personal care, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
- Provide gentle reminders, reassurance, and redirection as needed.
- Support protected mobility and help prevent falls.
- Prepare meals and encourage adequate food and fluid intake.
- Provide medication reminders and assistance within authorized scope and the established care plan.
- Engage the client in meaningful conversation, companionship, and appropriate cognitive activities.
- Maintain a safe, comfortable, and organized home environment.
- Perform light housekeeping related to the client's care.
- Observe and report changes in behaviour, cognition, physical health, or well-being.
- Complete accurate care documentation and communicate concerns promptly to the care coordinator.
- Maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality, and respect for the client's dignity.

Requirements

- Previous hands-on experience supporting individuals with Alzheimer's disease or dementia.




- Health Care Aide, Personal Support Worker, or related caregiving background preferred.
- Active Alberta HCA practice permit where applicable to the applicant's professional role.
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.
- Reliable personal transportation to and from the client's residence.
- Ability to work independently and follow an established care plan.
- Strong communication skills, patience, and professionalism.
- Dependable attendance and commitment to scheduled shifts.
- Ability to complete onboarding promptly.

Schedule and Availability This position involves scheduled home-care visits, including potential morning and early-evening shifts. Some weekend availability may be required.

The exact schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
