We are looking for a reliable, skilled, and detail-oriented independent handyman contractor to assist with property maintenance and repairs across our rental properties in Ottawa.

The ideal candidate will be experienced in general repairs, maintenance, installations, and preparing rental units for new tenants.

Responsibilities

- Complete general repairs and maintenance in residential rental properties.
- Install and replace light fixtures, mailbox units, house numbers, fan covers, and other hardware.
- Address minor electrical and plumbing issues within the contractor’s qualifications and licensing.
- Repair doors, locks, handles, shelves, and other household fixtures.
- Complete minor drywall repairs, painting, and touch-ups.
- Assist with preparing vacant units for new tenants.
- Identify maintenance issues and report any additional work required.
- Provide photos of completed work when requested.
- Maintain a clean and safe work workplace.

Requirements
- Previous handyman or residential maintenance experience.
- Ability to work independently and manage assigned tasks.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional.




- Own tools and reliable transportation.
- Good communication skills and attention to detail.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
- Must maintain any licences, certifications, and insurance required for the work undertaken.

Compensation
- $30–$35 per hour, depending on experience and skills.
- Flexible, as-needed scheduling based on maintenance requirements.
- Opportunity for ongoing work across multiple residential properties.

This is an independent contractor position, not an employee position. Contractors are responsible for their own tools and applicable business expenses, taxes, and required insurance.
