What you’ll be doing:

This Industrial Maintenance Operator position will be a hands-on job and will include installing, repairing, maintaining, trouble shooting, inspecting and refurbishing various equipment. This will include a variety of trades: mechanical, electrical and PLCs, welding and fabricating, hydraulics, pneumatics, carpentry, concrete, painting, etc. The Industrial Maintenance Team will work extended hours and callbacks on short notice.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Utilizes safe work practices and executes all risk management processes flawlessly
- Assist in the development of and apply predictive, preventative and reactive maintenance programs
- Maintain and execute the required scheduled maintenance activities for all on site equipment
- Effectively coordinate the required facility or equipment downtime to minimize business interruptions and lead coordination with external contractors as required
- Trouble Shoot and problem solve plant equipment problems
- Provide input to management to ensure reliable and cost-effective alternatives are explored and evaluated, using reliable resources to procure quotes and information
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and standardization of processes
- Secure use of equipment including forklift,



skid steer loader, aerial lifts, and power tools
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area
- Monitor, sort, store, and upkeep spare parts inventory
- Maintain a clean and worker friendly shop environment
- Assist in the process of purchasing maintenance related items as approved by Management
- Teach, mentor and train junior workers to develop trade related skills
- Other duties as required for the success of the site

Skills and Experience

- Unwavering safety mindset and commitment to managing risk

- Electrical maintenance and/or Welding experience considered an asset
- Motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of conveyer belts, drags, conveyers, large gear boxes, large electric motors and bucket elevators
- Agricultural industry experience considered an asset

Requirements to be successful in this position:

- High school diploma or GED
- 1-2 years’ experience as a Maintenance Mechanic and/or Millwright/Electrician in a production or manufacturing environment
- Other related or combinations of education and experience will be considered
- Good analytical, mechanical and problem-solving skills
- Valid class 5 driver’s license
- Reliable transportation
- For safety reasons, must be able to read, write, understand and follow written and/or verbal instructions in English
- Available to work overtime and weekends
- Professional demeanor (safety conscious, quality of job performance, cleanliness, and verbal communications)
- Ability to engage and interact with third-party contractors and suppliers
- Strong work ethic
- Able to pass a criminal background check
- Previous leadership or lead experience an asset
- Trade Journeyman certificate or an engineering degree or certificate an asset
