Okanagan Solar is a family owned Renewable Energy company located in Kelowna BC. We specialize in Grid Tied and Battery Backup solar energy systems for Commercial and Residential customers, as well as small Wind projects throughout Canada. We are a growing business striving to install lasting project legacies that will shape the future of energy.
We are looking for a Red Seal Journeyperson Electrician to join our team and assist in leading our electrical installations on Residential and Commercial projects.
Duties
- Lead quality installations based on system design and specifications
- Assist with design of electrical equipment and installations
- Installation of solar electric systems for residential and commercial buildings and ground mounts
- Complete renovation electrical work
- Service Upgrades and MP Replacements
- Working on various slopes of roofs during system installations
- Using all varieties of power tools and hand tools to install racking and solar panels
- Commissioning of PV systems and completion of quality control and commissioning documentation
- Ensure crew and job site safety
Qualifications:
- Red-Seal Journeyperson Certificate required
- Experience with Residential Electrical Renovation and New Construction
- Be in good health and physically fit (must be able to lift heavy solar panels and other items up to 60lbs)
- Comfortable working on roofs (various slopes)
- previous roofing experience considered a strong asset
- Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions
- A valid class 5 license with a clean driving record
- Robust communication and leadership skills
- Willing to work out of town on projects for durations of 2 days to 2 weeks
- Willingness to learn and adhere to all safety rules and regulations
Assets (preferred but not required)
- Solar training and/or solar installation certification
- Residential Renovation experience
- Solar installation experience – Commercial and Industrial projects
- Fall protection training/certification
- Experience working on roofs (commercial or residential)
