Key Responsibilities

- Assist in developing electrical designs and technical drawings based on client requirements and engineering standards
- Provide design support to Engineers, Senior Designers, and project teams
- Prepare and revise drawings using AutoCAD




- Assist with electrical layouts and designs in accordance with engineering specifications, applicable codes, and client standards
- Work under the guidance of experienced engineers and designers to develop technical skills and knowledge
- Assist in preparing project deliverables, including:
- Single line diagrams
- Area classification drawings
- Electrical load lists
- Equipment datasheets
- Equipment layouts
- Grounding layouts
- Lighting layouts
- Cable tray layouts
- Cable schedules
- Panel schedules
- Control schematics
- Electric heat trace design
- Wiring diagrams
- 3D models
- Construction work packages
- Update drawings based on mark-ups and field redlines
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to support project execution
- Assist with reviewing drawings for accuracy and completeness
- Develop an understanding of applicable electrical codes, standards, company procedures, and client requirements
- Participate in project meetings and design reviews as required

Qualifications & Experience

- Electrical Engineering degree or Electrical Engineering Technology diploma
- Eligible for registration as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with APEGA or Electrical Engineering Technologist (EET)
- 1–4 years of relevant electrical engineering or design experience




- Practical Skills & Applied Knowledge using AutoCAD
- Previous experience in the oil & gas, midstream, or industrial sectors is considered an asset
- Familiarity with electrical codes and standards is an asset
- ETAP experience is considered an asset
- Experience with 3D design/modeling is an asset
- Strong willingness to learn and develop technical skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and eager to take on new challenges
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
