We are seeking a reliable and experienced Long Haul Driver to operate commercial vehicles across regional and national routes. Duties
- Safely operate heavy-duty trucks over long distances, adhering to all federal and state transportation laws.
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed, ensuring proper handling and securement of cargo.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety and readiness.
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, mileage, fuel usage, and vehicle maintenance logs.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding routes, schedules, and delivery updates.
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting minor mechanical issues to minimize downtime.
- Assist with warehouse operations including freight handling and inventory management when not on the road.
- Follow safety protocols at all times to ensure personal safety and that of others on the road and at facilities.
Skills
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Experience operating freight trucks over long distances; prior experience with heavy equipment operation is a plus.
- Knowledge of freight handling procedures, including forklift operation for loading/unloading cargo.
- Basic automotive repair skills for troubleshooting mechanical issues during trips.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations related to commercial driving and heavy equipment operation.
- Excellent navigation skills and familiarity with GPS systems for efficient route planning.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and clients.
