Kaycan is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to join our Napanee manufacturing facility. This position plays a critical role in leading daily maintenance activities, ensuring equipment reliability, production efficiency, and adherence to Saint-Gobain’s high standards for safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

The Maintenance

Supervisor is a key member of the plant leadership team and is responsible for managing personnel, optimizing workflows, and driving performance through strong leadership and application of World Class Manufacturing (WCM) principles.

Key Responsibilities Safety, Compliance, and Standards

- Ensure all safety management programs are followed for assigned personnel, including conducting safety audits, inspections, and safety meetings.
- Thoroughly investigate all reported incidents, including near misses and OSHA-recordable events.
- Evaluate and ensure completion of training needs on a continuing basis.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable legislation, regulations and company policies.
- Promote and adhere to Saint-Gobain’s Principles and Guidelines and utilize corporate tools such as TF-Cards and SMATs to monitor and reinforce safe work practices.

Operations and Equipment Management

- Plan and execute maintenance work on PVC extrusion lines, mixer, grinder, paint line and various auxiliary equipment.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure equipment is available and operational to meet customer shipment requirements (on-time and on-spec).
- Develop and manage preventive maintenance programs for all critical equipment to continuously improve reliability.




- Manage the tooling maintenance system and support die developments and improvements.
- Oversee third-party contractors and suppliers performing plant repairs or maintenance to ensure compliance with standards and schedules.

Leadership and Team Management

- Manage and develop maintenance team to achieve department goals related to safety, quality, production volume, environmental performance, and cost.
- Clearly communicate departmental goals and progress (“know the goal and know the score”).
- Apply the Saint-Gobain Vision, Mission, Values, and Objectives (VMVO) to lead and guide the team.
- Provide ongoing feedback, coaching, and development to promote high performance and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with other departments to guide decision making and deliver the best results for the business.

Continuous Improvement and Problem Solving

- Lead problem-solving initiatives using World Class Manufacturing (WCM) methodologies, including EWO (Emergency Work Orders) and reliability pillar tools.
- Drive and support 5S and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the department.
- Analyze and make recommendations regarding safety, environmental performance, quality, cost, productivity, and customer feedback.




- Monitor and control material and labour costs within the department’s budget.
- Develop and implement departmental performance reports and KPIs reflecting operational priorities and reliability goals.

Qualifications and Requirements

- Licensed trade with 3-5 years supervisory/lead hand experience (electrician/millwright preferred)
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate teams
- Strong understanding of preventative maintenance systems and processes.
- Experience with Lean, 5S, and WCM tools considered and asset.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- PLC programming and troubleshooting experience an asset
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and CMMS systems
