BC Community Alliance (BCCA) is looking for a practical, confident operational leader who can turn approved priorities into coordinated delivery. The Manager, Operations, Programs & Services will lead day-to-day coordination across the assigned portfolio: bringing together people, schedules, spaces, systems and resources so programs and services work reliably for participants, partners and staff.
This is a hands-on, front-facing role not solely an administrative or project-tracking position. The successful candidate will anticipate problems, organize delivery, support colleagues, resolve routine issues and follow through without relying on the Executive Director to coordinate every step.

Operational Leadership and Planning (30%)
- Translate organizational priorities into actionable workplans, timelines, and accountabilities.
- Maintain integrated delivery calendars, 90-day plans, weekly status updates, and current operating documentation.
- Coordinate cross-functional work, resolve operational bottlenecks, and escalate risks with recommended solutions.
Program and Participant-Service Delivery (20%)
- Coordinate program logistics, registration, communications, staffing, accessibility, and follow-up.
- Ensure activities are adequately staffed, operationally ready, and delivered to a high standard.
- Monitor participant experience, resolve service issues, and coordinate program, mentorship, youth, and partner activities.
Safe School Hub and Project Operations (20%)
- Oversee approved legal-access and legal education activities, including scheduling, referrals, service capacity, and coverage.
- Monitor service standards, including the intended 48-hour lawyer-assistance commitment, and escalate capacity or delivery risks.
- Support accessible,
bilingual services and referral partnerships while respecting professional boundaries and confidential case management responsibilities.
Onsite Operations and Facilities Coordination (10%)
- Oversee space readiness, bookings, staffing coverage, equipment, access, and event logistics for assigned programs and Fraser Street Studios
- Maintain clear operational procedures and escalation pathways for safety, maintenance, and service issues
- Support facilities coordination and approved commercial activities within the role’s authorized scope
Team and Volunteer Coordination (10%)
- Establish clear expectations, support performance, and provide practical coaching and timely feedback
- Coordinate onboarding, training, role clarity, and workforce needs
- Develop structured volunteer assignments, supervision, and backup coverage while maintaining appropriate professional and staffing boundaries
Product Collaboration and Executive Support (10%)
- Identify operational needs, translate them into service requirements, and support testing and readiness for digital changes in collaboration with the team’s Manager, Marketing & Product Growth
- Maintain operational continuity during Executive Director absences or external engagements
- Provide clear updates on progress, risks, and decisions required, exercising delegated authority and escalating material concerns promptly
Decision-Making and Accountability (10%)
- Report to the Executive Director and collaborate across other organizational functions
- Make routine operational decisions within delegated authority and bring recommendations forward on matters requiring approval
- Respect established reporting relationships and approval limits for staffing, spending, strategic commitments, and changes in scope
What you bring
- Demonstrated experience leading operations, programs or participant-facing services
- Previous experience coordinating people and resources to deliver work on time and within a defined budget
- Confidence managing onsite activities while working with a distributed team
- Robust judgment, organization, communication and conflict-resolution skills
- Experience maintaining delivery evidence and supporting funder reporting
- Understanding of confidentiality, safeguarding and culturally responsive service
- Comfort with utilizing Asana, Google Workspace and digital service tools
- An understanding of anti-Black racism work and a commitment to BCCA’s mission
We welcome equivalent combinations of professional, community and lived experience!
What we offer

- The opportunity to collaborate with a dynamic, passionate and growing team!
Please note that this is a contract opportunity, not employment.
