We are looking for a skilled Mobile Mechanic to keep our snow removal fleet running throughout the winter season. This role involves traveling between job sites and our yard to perform on-the-spot repairs and maintenance on a variety of heavy and light equipment. A fully equipped company service truck will be provided to travel from the yard to job sites.
Equipment Serviced:
- Plow trucks
- Front-end loaders
- Salt spreader trucks
- Sidewalk tractors and skid steers
- Snow blowers and small equipment
Responsibilities:
- Respond to equipment breakdowns in the field during snow and ice events
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on-site
- Perform preventative maintenance and pre-season equipment inspections
- Repair and adjust plow frames, cutting edges, hydraulic hoses, spreader systems, and related components
- Maintain an organized and well-stocked service truck
- Communicate with dispatch and field supervisors regarding repair status and equipment availability
- Document all repairs, parts used,
and service performed
Qualifications:
- Experience with diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and heavy equipment repair
- Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues in the field
- Familiarity with snow removal equipment (plows, spreaders, brine systems) is a strong asset
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Comfortable working outdoors in cold and severe winter conditions
- Available to work on-call, nights, weekends, and holidays during storm events
- Robust troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
