Our state of the art surgical center is an accredited ICHSC and an Out of Hospital Premises Program with deep roots in the community of Mississauga. Our surgical team performs cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery procedures on an outpatient basis - days only, no nights, possible 12-hour shifts. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated OR Nurse RN/RPN with OR experience for scrubbing and circulating in the OR and for assisting with minor procedures. This role requires compassion, excellent patient care skills, the ability to work collaboratively with exceptional team members in a fast-paced environment. Only those with OR experience and/or peri-operative nursing graduates need apply. An ongoing commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and quality in patient care is key. What you’ll be doing:

- Assisting physicians with surgeries (both major surgeries such as breast augmentations and reductions, rhinoplasties, facelifts, etc., and minor procedures such as mole removal);
- Assisting in suturing, suture removal and the application of dressings;
- Starting IVs and administer medications;
- Assisting with post-operative recovery;
- Scrubbing and set up sterile equipment for surgical procedures;
- Maintaining surgical equipment and supplies
- Using Nextech and Telus Health EMR
- Staying current in the aesthetic field by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications and maintaining personal networks;
- Some 12 hour shifts may be required.

What you need for this position:

- Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) required
- Operating room experience or completion of a peri-operative nursing program required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) [LR1] certification required
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
- High level of professionalism and care in personal presentation
- Ability to work as part of a team and establish cooperative working relationships with administrators, physicians, and peers in a fast-paced environment
- Goal-oriented, with a commitment to patient safety and quality care
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule to accommodate patient and clinic needs, including occasional 12-hour day shifts
- Experience with Nextech or Telus Health EMR an asset
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform lifting, bending, and movement throughout the workday

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent Pay: $40.00-$50.00 per hour
