Youth Sports Performance Coach — Part Time Jungle Athletics Calgary
Jungle Athletics is Calgary's leading youth sports performance facility for competitive athletes ages 8–14. Our athletes play at the APDL soccer, AAA hockey, AA ringette, and all other multi-sport levels. Our performance coaches are expected to perform at the same standard we hold our athletes to.
This is not a general fitness coaching role. This is a high-performance youth development role with a specific methodology, a specific athlete population, and a specific physical standard.
What the role involves:
- Coaching group sessions and individual athlete assessments (evenings, weekends, early mornings)
- Demonstrating and physically executing all program drills at full speed and full range of motion
- Working directly with athletes ages 8–14 in hockey, soccer, ringette, and multi-sport programs
- Learning and delivering the Jungle Athletics methodology — including the Attain-Hold-Explode framework and the Delivery System model
What we require:
- Competed at a university varsity level or higher in a recognized sport; this is non-negotiable.
International or national-level competition outside the university system (European leagues, national programs, club academies) is considered equivalent. Be specific in your video about the level at which you competed and what you achieved
- Currently in superior athletic condition — you will be assessed on this before any offer is made
- Genuine knowledge of and interest in hockey and/or soccer at the competitive youth level
- Coachable — you will be trained in a specific system and expected to deliver it with fidelity
- Available evenings, weekends, and early mornings
How we hire: Every candidate who passes the application stage will complete a physical movement and fitness assessment on our training floor before any offer is made. This is not optional. If that doesn't work for you, this role is not for you.
