We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Laborer to join our team. This position involves assisting with various physical tasks related to farm operations and machinery maintenance. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, the ability to perform heavy lifting, and some familiarity with poultry farm husbandry and and mechanical systems. This role offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in agricultural environments while contributing to the efficient operation of our farm.
Duties
- Inspect barns regularly to maintain proper conditions and address any issues.
- Perform routine cleaning and disinfection to ensure a hygienic environment.
- Barn cleaning/washing.
- Set up barns and equipment for the arrival of new flocks.
- Barn litter management, spread straw/rototill when necessary.
- Collect and handle eggs from poultry operations with care.
- Oversee feeding, watering, ventilation, and health checks for flocks.
- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on barns and equipment.
- Upkeep outdoor areas and perform necessary repairs on infrastructure.
- Manage and remove manure to keep the environment clean.
- Address and resolve urgent issues related to animal care or facilities.
- Implement pest control measures to safeguard animal health.
Qualifications
- Prior experience or knowledge of working with animals is preferred but not required
- Mechanical knowledge is a plus for troubleshooting equipment issues
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Physical stamina and strength to handle demanding labor tasks
- Familiarity with agricultural or outdoor work environments is beneficial
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to various tasks on the farm
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
