Qualifications:

- Bachelor of Education / Masters of Education
- OCT Membership in good standing
- RECE qualification an asset
- Minimum 2 years of teaching experience (Primary, grades 1-3 is preferred)

Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience

- Strong knowledge of the Ontario Curriculum, PYP, development of program plans and lesson delivery
- Strengths in differentiated learning strategies
- Understands and has knowledge of working within private school sector
- An understanding of boys’ learning needs.
- Excellent problem-solving,



critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Superior oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated organization and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
- An enthusiastic work ethic, with a commitment to full participation in the life of the school
- Working knowledge and classroom experience (Primary grades, specifically grades 1-3) with SMART board would be an asset
- Utilizing a variety of teaching mediums to accommodate diverse learning abilities.

Responsibilities & Performance Requirements

- Develop a solid rapport with students and families
- Develop and deliver an enriched & inquiry-based program that meets the needs of all students in the class
- Assess and develop an Individual Program for each student that keys into a student’s interests, strengths and areas for to work on
- Communicate regularly with families and specialists (i.e. speech, OT)
- Liaise with Principal and Curriculum Coordinator
- Organize and lead extra-curricular activities
