West Coast Steel Ltd. is an established structural steel fabrication and installation company based in Coquitlam, BC. We specialize in structural steel and miscellaneous metals for commercial, institutional, industrial, and infrastructure projects throughout British Columbia.

We are looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented, and motivated Project Coordinator to join our team and support our Project Managers in the successful execution of multiple projects.

Key Responsibilities

Assist Project Managers with daily project coordination, scheduling, and administration.

Coordinate communication between general contractors, engineers, suppliers, subcontractors, shop personnel, and installation crews.

Track and follow up on shop drawing submissions, approvals, RFIs, change orders, and project documentation.

Monitor fabrication schedules, material deliveries, and installation timelines.

Prepare, maintain, and update project tracking logs and progress reports.

Assist with preparing and tracking purchase orders, material requisitions, and subcontractor documentation.

Follow up with suppliers regarding pricing, orders, and delivery schedules.

Assist Project Managers with change order documentation and cost tracking.

Coordinate deliveries between the fabrication shop and construction sites.

Maintain organized project files, correspondence, and records.

Identify outstanding project issues and follow up to ensure timely resolution.

Support project closeout documentation and turnover requirements.

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum 5 years of experience in project coordination,



preferably in structural steel, metal fabrication, or commercial construction.

Ability to read and understand structural and architectural drawings.

Familiarity with construction project documentation, including RFIs, shop drawings, change orders, and purchase orders.

Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.11

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.

Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.

Ability to prioritize tasks and follow up proactively.

Experience working with general contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in structural steel fabrication or miscellaneous metals.

Familiarity with fabrication and installation processes.

Experience with Tekla Structures or Trimble Connect.

Knowledge of construction contracts, schedules, and project cost tracking.

Diploma or degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
