The Role

We’re looking for a Registered Early Childhood Educator with hands-on experience working in a licensed toddler room.

You understand that toddlerhood is a time of growing independence, emerging language, big emotions, and constant discovery. Supporting toddlers requires warmth, patience, transparent boundaries, close observation, and a thoughtful balance between helping children and allowing them to try for themselves.

You will work closely with the Supervisor and other toddler-room educators to create a responsive, engaging workplace where children can build trusting relationships, explore safely, and develop confidence in their abilities.

What You’ll Do

- Provide responsive, nurturing care to toddlers between 18 and 30 months
- Build secure, trusting relationships with each child
- Support language development, social interaction, emotional regulation, and emerging independence
- Guide children through big feelings and challenging moments with patience, consistency, and respectful boundaries
- Support meals, diapering, toileting readiness, dressing, rest periods, and daily transitions
- Encourage self-help skills while respecting each child’s developmental readiness
- Observe and document children’s development, interests, and emerging abilities
- Plan age-appropriate movement, language, sensory, practical-life, and exploratory experiences




- Support children in learning to participate in classroom routines, care for materials, and interact respectfully with others
- Prepare and maintain a calm, organized, safe, and engaging toddler environment
- Maintain accurate attendance, daily-care records, and required documentation
- Follow all supervision, sanitation, health, safety, and licensing requirements
- Communicate professionally and compassionately with families about their child’s care, development, and daily experiences
- Work collaboratively with other educators to maintain consistent routines and approaches
- Maintain required staff-to-child ratios and active supervision throughout the day

Who You Are You’re calm, attentive, patient, and emotionally responsive. You understand that toddlers need both the freedom to explore and dependable adults who provide comfort, guidance, and transparent limits.

You’re also

- A Registered Early Childhood Educator in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators
- Experienced working directly in a licensed toddler classroom
- Knowledgeable about toddler development, responsive caregiving, positive guidance, and toileting readiness
- Comfortable supporting children with different abilities, routines, temperaments, and care needs
- Able to remain organized and composed in an active classroom
- Confident supporting challenging behaviours through observation, connection, and consistent guidance
- Warm and professional when communicating with families
- Reliable, collaborative, and willing to support the classroom team
- Interested in Montessori or respectful, child-led approaches to early learning

Previous Montessori toddler experience is an asset but is not required. A genuine respect for children, openness to Montessori practices, and strong toddler-room experience are essential. Pay: $21.00-$24.00 per hour
