We are seeking a mature individual to join our fast paced fresh flower, giftware and jewellery business. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, assisting customers with their purchases, and promoting our products through effective sales techniques. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and have a passion for people.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in finding products that meet their needs.
- Manage point-of-sale (POS) transactions efficiently, including cash handling and basic math calculations.
- Follow company Standard Operating Procedures, Policies and Systems.
- Maintain organized and visually appealing merchandise displays.
- Suggesting products by identifying customer needs and suggesting complementary add ons.
- Demonstrate effective time management skills to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.
- Maintain knowledge of current promotions, sales, and product offerings.
- Be able to take direction and productive feedback.
- Connect with customers on phone for phone sales and cold calling.
- Take online courses as offered in sales, floral and marketing.
- Cleaning, processing flowers and janitorial duties as needed.
- Have a valid driver's license for floral delivery.
- Must be able to lift at least 25 lbs. on a regular basis.
- Must have a clean criminal record.
- Work hours are Monday-Friday 9:30 am - 5:30 pm, Saturdays 9:30 am - 4:30 pm.
Occasional
Sundays and longer hours during floral holiday times and events.
Experience/Skills
- Previous experience in retail sales or customer service is preferred.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and computers.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Handwriting and penmanship.
- Organizational skills to manage time and inventory.
- Ability to demonstrate phone etiquette when interacting with customers over the phone.
