Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and personable Sales Clerk/Cashier to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting customers, processing transactions accurately, and maintaining an organized sales environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, be attentive to detail, and demonstrate a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their purchases in a professional manner
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system efficiently for cash, credit, and debit transactions
- Handle cash, credit card payments, and perform accurate cash handling procedures
- Provide product information and conduct product demonstrations when appropriate
- Maintain organized merchandising displays to enhance the shopping experience
- Ensure compliance with store policies regarding age restrictions and legal requirements
- Address customer inquiries promptly and resolve issues effectively
- Uphold cleanliness and organization of the sales area at all times
- Assist with inventory management, including stock replenishment and product rotation
Skills
- Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred
- Strong communication skills in English
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling, and basic math skills
- Customer service orientation with excellent phone etiquette
- Organizational skills to manage time effectively during busy periods
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
