Description
Barber-Collins security is looking for a casual Security Guard to work at a client's facility in St. Thomas. This area is a high-traffic facility and customer service based.
Those who have access to their own personal vehicle will be preferred.
Shifts
- No guaranteed permanent/set hours
- Must be available to work days, afternoons/evenings and over night
- Must be available to work weekends
- Potential for extra hours - covering shifts
- Must be flexible and reliable
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for conducting regular interior and exterior foot patrols.
- Protect company’s property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure workplace.
- Take accurate notes of unusual occurrences.
- Monitor and control access at building entrances and vehicle gates.
- Watch alarm systems or video cameras and operate detecting/emergency equipment.
- Access control for the facility/area.
- Ensuring that the facility’s safety and emergency procedures are followed in response to site emergencies.
- Demonstrating judgement, common sense, and decision-making ability, particularly when required to take charge and direct others in emergencies or other incidents.
Skills:
- Proven work experience as a security guard or relevant position.
- Trained Security Guard with a diploma in a related field.
- Ability to operate detecting systems and emergency equipment.
- Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols.
- Surveillance skills and detail orientation.
- Integrity and professionalism.
- Ability to operate security equipment/systems, computers, radios, phones.
- Meticulous record keeping, report writing, observation skills.
