Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-orientated Welder to join our production team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabrication, modification and structural welding of hollow metal door frames and the architectural metal components required on the opening. The ideal candidate has a solid background in reading Shop Drawings, understanding hardware specifications and precision welds, ensuring our product meets strict construction standards and tight project schedules.
This role will be based at our warehouse in Port Coquitlam, with the possibility of being mobile and working on jobsites in the lower mainland.
Responsibilities
- Frame Fabrication & Modification – Construct,
alter and weld hollow metal door frames and custom architectural assemblies according to the shop drawings and site instructions.
- Welding Operations – Perform high-quality precision welds keeping clean, strong, and visually consistent joints.
- Understanding Shop Drawings – Read and interpret architectural blueprints and shop drawings to accurately detail frames.
- Coordination – Work closely with the shop supervisor and production team to prioritize critical items and resolve technical challenges.
Requirements
- Minimum 2-4 years of professional welding and metal fabrication. (Preferably within the door and hardware industry)
- Certifications: A valid welding ticket
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy metal components, and work safely in a warehouse setting.
