Green Works Contracting is a multi-service landscaping and property maintenance company serving the nation’s capital. We are looking for an experienced Sidewalk Plow Operator to join our winter snow-removal team.

The successful candidate will Operate A Sidewalk Plow, assist with snow clearing at commercial and municipal properties,

and safely transport equipment between locations.

Other Winter positions available based upon experience: Plow truck, Loader Operators, AZ/DZ Dump Truck Operators.

POSITION DETAILS

● Seasonal position - approximately November 1, 2026 to April 15, 2027.

● On-call position with hours dependent on weather and snowfall (no guaranteed hours).

● Shifts may range from 8–15 hours (6 to 15 hour shifts on average).

● Must be available for snow events 24/7, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

● Summer landscaping work may be available following the winter season.

● $25.00 - $29.00 per hour - Pay is based on experience, equipment operation skills, reliability, and position assigned.

RESPONSIBILITIES

● Operate a sidewalk plow to clear snow from commercial and municipal properties.

● Clear walkways, entrances, sidewalks, and other designated areas.

● Use a shovel and hand salter as required to complete snow-removal duties.

● Safely drive a pickup truck while hauling a 20' trailer with the sidewalk plow properly secured (if hired to drive the truck).

● Perform truck and equipment inspections before and during shifts (using a phone app).

● Report equipment damage, maintenance requirements, or safety concerns to supervisors.

● Follow work orders, site instructions, and company safety procedures.

● Communicate with supervisors and team members throughout snow events.

● Ensure assigned areas are cleared safely and efficiently.

REQUIREMENTS

● Previous Kubota F2690 or similar sidewalk plow experience.

● Valid Ontario Class G driver's licence with a clean driving record (required for a truck driving role).

● Experience towing a 20’ trailer is required (required for a truck driving role).

● Comfortable driving in winter and changing road conditions.

● Reliable transportation to and from our shop (no buses available).

● Must be able to respond to dispatch and be ready to work on short notice.

● Reliable cell phone with data and the ability to remain reachable during snow events.

● Available for overnight, weekends, and holiday shifts.





● Able to work safely in various winter conditions.

● Able to read and follow work orders and site instructions

● Dependable and able to work independently and as part of a team..

Position Overview

● We are currently hiring an experienced Sidewalk Plow Operator for the upcoming winter season. In this role, you will be responsible for clearing snow and ice from municipal and commercial properties, ensuring safe pedestrian access during winter events.

● Location: Ottawa, ON (Nation’s Capital Region)

● Position Type: Seasonal (Approx. Nov 1, 2026 – Apr 15, 2027) | On-Call / Weather-Dependent

● Pay Rate: $25.00 – $29.00 / hour (based on experience, skill level, and reliability)

● Schedule: On-call 24/7 during winter snow events (including nights, weekends, and holidays).

● Shift Length: Shifts vary by weather conditions, typically averaging 8–15 hours per event.

● Summer Growth: High-performing operators are given priority for summer landscaping positions.

Key Responsibilities

● Equipment Operation: Safely operate a Kubota F2690 / Snowrator (or similar sidewalk plow) to clear sidewalks, walkways,

building entrances, and designated areas.

● Manual Detail Work: Perform hand shoveling and salt application around doorways and tight areas as required.





● Transport & Hauling: Safely drive a company pickup truck towing a 20’ trailer with equipment properly secured (for qualified drivers).

● Inspection & Maintenance: Conduct required pre-shift and post-shift equipment/vehicle inspections using our mobile app.

● Safety & Communication: Maintain transparent communication with supervisors during snow events, follow site instructions, and report any equipment damage or site hazards immediately.

● Site Quality: Ensure assigned sites are cleared safely, thoroughly, and efficiently per company standards and client specifications.

● Work Apps: Required to download and use specific apps for work duties and log tracking.

Requirements

● Experience: Proven experience operating a Kubota F2690 or similar sidewalk plow machine.

● Driver’s License: Valid Ontario Class G License with a clean driving record (required for truck-driving roles).

● Towing Experience: Demonstrated experience towing and backing up a 20’ trailer (required for truck-driving roles).

● Reliability: Must have reliable personal transportation to our shop on short notice (not accessible by public transit).

● Tech-Savvy: A smart phone with active data to receive dispatch alerts and perform mobile inspections.

● Work Ethic: Comfortable working extended hours in extreme winter weather conditions; dependable both independently and in a team setting.
