Thrift Store Supervisor

PURPOSE A Thrift Store Supervisor is a key member of the SPCA St. John’s team assisting the manager with day-to-day operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

· Enforcing store operational guidelines

· Effectively and efficiently uphold store operational policies and procedures

· Supervising & Orientation of volunteers

· Supervising the store

· Assist in coordination of pick-up & delivery scheduling with customers and volunteers

· Assist in coordinating volunteer scheduling and orientation for store volunteers and furniture moving volunteers

· Ensuring Customer and Volunteer Safety

· Promoting mission & vision of the SPCA

· Participate in store special events, and sales as scheduled, or assigned by the Thrift Store manager

· Adheres to policies and procedures

· Must be organized and personable

· Must be punctual and reliable

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, the Thrift Store Supervisor must demonstrate ability to work effectively with others (including co-workers, customers, volunteers and others)



by sharing ideas in a constructive and positive manner; listening to and objectively considering ideas and suggestions from others; keeping commitments; keeping others informed of work progress, timetables and issues; and addressing problems and issues constructively to find mutually acceptable and practical business solutions. Employees must demonstrate regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

· This position requires a flexible schedule as shifts may be located at either store (Topsail Road/Elizabeth Ave). Evenings and weekends are required.

· Driver’s license is required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

· Working conditions include working independently, frequent interruptions, and some meetings.

· Requires frequent bending, reaching, repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting and sitting, with some heavy lifting, pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular work shift.

Job Types: Part time, Permanent

Pay: $18.50 per hour

Education

- Secondary School (preferred)
