Eligibility for full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC

As the regional tertiary care center for Northern BC, UHNBC serves a vast geographical area, providing specialized and advanced medical services.

UHNBC is affiliated with the UBC Northern Medical Program, the UBC Family Medicine Residency Program and other associated healthcare training programs.

Currently,



UHNBC provides advanced procedures, including Interventional Radiology, EVAR, Pediatric MRI, Vascular Surgery including Open abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, carotid endarterectomy and Complex general surgery procedures such as Whipple resection, esophagectomy and future liver resections.

Surgical colleagues include: OB/GYN, orthopedics, Plastics and urology. With highly complex and critically ill patients, UHNBC offers a dynamic and engaging medical setting.
