About the Position
We are looking for an experienced, creative, and self-motivated WordPress Website Designer to manage, maintain, and continuously improve our company's website.
This is a part-time, work-from-home opportunity for someone who can take ownership of our website, identify opportunities for improvement, and proactively recommend and implement changes.
We are not simply looking for someone to complete tasks as assigned. We want a professional who can bring recent ideas, recognize opportunities, and help our website grow and perform better for our business.
Key Responsibilities
Website Maintenance & Updates
- Perform regular maintenance on our existing WordPress website.
- Update website content, layouts, images, and functionality.
- Monitor website performance, mobile responsiveness, and user experience.
- Ensure plugins, themes, and website functionality remain up to date.
- Troubleshoot and resolve website issues as needed.
Continuous Website Improvements
- Regularly review our website to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Recommend enhancements to website design, navigation, functionality, SEO, and customer experience.
- Proactively propose new projects and website improvements to management for approval.
- Plan and complete approved improvements within the allocated monthly hours.
- Continuously look for ways to improve lead generation,
customer engagement, and overall website effectiveness.
Team Collaboration & Independent Execution
- Work with our sales and service teams to understand our services, customers, and business priorities.
- Take information and ideas provided by our team and expand on them to create skilled, engaging website content and improvements.
- Independently develop solutions and recommendations rather than relying on detailed direction for every task.
- Provide regular updates to management on work completed, upcoming priorities, and recommended projects.
Qualifications & Experience
Required:
- Proven professional experience designing, maintaining, and improving WordPress websites.
- Strong understanding of WordPress themes, plugins, page builders, and website functionality.
- A portfolio demonstrating previous WordPress website projects.
- Experience with mobile-friendly website design and user experience.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
- Ability to turn general business ideas into polished, professional website improvements.
Preferred:
- Experience with search engine optimization (SEO).
- Understanding of website analytics and conversion optimization.
- Experience developing websites for service-based businesses.
- Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and website performance optimization.
- Experience creating website content that supports sales and lead generation.
What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is someone who takes initiative, pays attention to detail, and genuinely enjoys improving websites.
You should be comfortable identifying what needs attention, developing a plan, presenting recommendations to management, and then independently completing approved work.
We value proven experience, creativity, reliability, and the ability to take ownership of projects.
