Overview

Join Bright Expressions as a Communicative Disorders Assistant, where you will play a vital role in supporting children on their communication journeys! We are seeking driven Communicative Disorders Assistants (CDA) or Speech Language Pathology Assistants (SLP-A) to deliver high impact, direct therapy under the guidance of the supervising SLP. This is a part time contract positions which will require some evening and weekend availability. Work with a diverse range of clients including children with speech sound disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorder and children with language disorders. The current role includes in person clients in the Collingwood, Wasaga beach and Clearview areas, as well as some virtual clients.

Duties

- Assist speech-language pathologists in delivering therapy sessions tailored to individual patient needs.
- Travel to the client's home where services are delivered.
- Support patients in practicing speech, and language under supervision from the SLP.
- Prepare therapy materials and assist with the setup of treatment environments to ensure smooth session flow.
- Document patient progress accurately and maintain detailed records of therapy activities. Documentation is completed using JANE.
- Monitor patient responses during sessions,



providing feedback and reporting any concerns to supervising clinicians.
- Help coordinate appointments, follow-up care, and communicate with families or caregivers as needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized therapy workplace.

Skills

- Prior experience working in pediatrics is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Compassionate approach with the ability to motivate and engage diverse patient populations.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and adapt quickly to changing clinical needs.
- Knowledge of therapeutic techniques used in speech and language development is a plus.
- Demonstrated organizational skills for managing multiple patients and documentation tasks efficiently.

Pay: $50.00-$70.00 per hour
