Primepet Animal Hospital is a new, independently owned small animal hospital in Pickering. We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Veterinary Technician to join our team and help us provide high-quality care for dogs and cats.

Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures.
- Prepare patients for anesthesia, monitor anesthesia, and provide postoperative care.
- Collect samples and perform laboratory testing, including hematology, chemistry, and urinalysis.
- Assist with diagnostic imaging while following radiation safety procedures.
- Administer prescribed medications, place IV catheters, and provide nursing care under veterinary direction.
- Educate clients about medications, preventive care, nutrition, and home care.
- Maintain accurate patient records.
- Clean, sterilize, and maintain instruments and equipment.
- Support infection control, inventory management,
and daily hospital operations.
- Handle patients gently and safely, with attention to their comfort and stress levels.
Qualifications
● Education in veterinary technology or relevant veterinary clinical experience.
● Experience in a small animal hospital is preferred.
● Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
● Compassionate approach to patients and clients.
● Ability to multitask and follow veterinary instructions carefully.
● Availability for some evening and weekend shifts.
