We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Assistant Manager – Retail Sales (Watches & Lifestyle) to join our vibrant retail team. In this pivotal role, you will lead and motivate sales associates, oversee daily store operations, and ensure an exceptional customer experience.

Your enthusiasm and leadership will drive sales performance, enhance merchandising standards, and foster a positive shopping environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your management skills while working with premium watch and lifestyle brands in a fast-paced retail setting.

You’ll work directly with Darren Bondar, MEDIUM’s founder. Darren is a Calgary entrepreneur who has opened roughly 150 stores including WATCH IT! and built Spiritleaf into Canada’s largest cannabis retail chain. This isn’t a role where you report to a regional manager you never see. You’ll learn how a brand is built and how a store is run, and how great retail actually works, from someone who has done it at scale. If you want to grow into retail leadership, few seasons will teach you more.

Responsibilities

- Lead, supervise, and inspire a team of sales associates to achieve individual and store sales targets through effective coaching and motivation.
- Manage daily store operations including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and maintaining store standards.
- Drive merchandising initiatives by organizing displays, managing inventory levels, and ensuring product presentation aligns with brand guidelines.
- Provide outstanding customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues promptly, and creating a welcoming shopping environment.
- Oversee Shopify POS (Point of Sale) systems for transactions, refunds, and exchanges while ensuring accuracy in pricing and billing.
- Conduct recruiting activities such as interviewing candidates, onboarding new hires, and supporting training & development efforts.
- Assist with payroll processing, budgeting, and administrative tasks to support smooth store functioning.




- Implement marketing strategies within the store to promote new products or special events that boost foot traffic and sales.
- Monitor sales performance metrics regularly to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
- Ensure compliance with company policies on cash handling, security procedures, health & safety standards, and store cleanliness.

Requirements

- Proven supervisory or team management experience in retail sales or related fields.
- Strong knowledge of retail management principles including merchandising, pricing strategies, and inventory control.
- Excellent communication skills; bilingual abilities are a plus for engaging diverse customer bases.
- Demonstrated ability in negotiation, customer service excellence, and conflict resolution.
- Experience with Shopify POS systems, payroll processing, and administrative tasks.
- Skilled in recruiting, training & development of staff to foster high-performing teams.
- Proficiency in budgeting, sales management, marketing initiatives, and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately while maintaining phone etiquette and professional demeanor.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a quick-paced environment.
