Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic 4th year to journeyman mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the maintenance and repair of heavy machinery, varieties of construction equipment, all makes and models semi trucks, trailers and light duty vehicles. Must have experience in both on/off-road equipment. This role requires a hands-on approach, attention to detail, and the ability to diagnose mechanical issues effectively. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will work with various types of equipment, including Caterpillar, JD, Komastu machinery, Zoom booms, skid steers, excavators, dozers, trucks, trailers, and HVAC systems, garbage trucks, School buses, ultility trailers, Medium trucks to light vehicles. Must be familiar with Cummins insite, Cat ET, Detroit etc. Must be able to work independently and as part of the team.

Responsibilities

- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, trucks, trailers and light vehicles.
- Must be able to complete CVIP inspections or working towards it.
- Diagnose mechanical issues and troubleshoot problems effectively.
- Operate heavy equipment to test functionality after repairs.
- Utilize power tools and hand tools for repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding their equipment needs.




- Ensure compliance with safety regulations while working on equipment.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently.

Experience

- Proven experience in heavy equipment operation, trucks, trailers and construction equipment repairs
- Able to work independently in both shop/field service calls
- Experience operating a service truck is considered an asset
- Familiarity with automotive repair practices is a plus.
- Experience working with various construction equipment, trucks, trailers, light vehicles, operating a service truck are must
- Knowledge of HVAC systems is advantageous.
- Robust problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team and good attitude.
- Excellent communication skills to provide effective customer service.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Apprenticeship

Pay: $29.15-$50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 60.0 per week
